Here are some tools to enhance the images that will go into your dataset.

Upscaler [02/09/2025]

Upscale + detailer (FLUX/ANIME) - Web (Creditos)

This tool, although limited by credit, is the best tool I have found to enhance an image, without having to use stabble diffusion:

  • It's recommended to use a previous scale first

  • Not so recommended for Cartoons

  • Remove some details if they are not very visible

    • semi-transparent clothing patterns, accessories, etc.

    • when the image zooms in or focuses on these details, it does not erase them, but may alter them slightly.

  • SFW oriented

  • Fix the eyes (Female oriented)

  • Make colour more subdued or vivid depending on the base skin colour

  • Changes the expression slightly to happy

  • It's better to use their mini application that charges you less points.

  • If you don't want the ‘style’ to change too much then it's better to ‘erase the face’ and use in your dataset:

    • alternate_style, faceless, alternate_color

Upscayl

Art (Digital/Real/Details/Buildings/Landscapes) - (PC)

It's a very versatile application that allows you to select the type of art/image you want to use.

  • Introductory video

  • Select languages

  • Change the type of artwork

  • Scale multiple images (Batch)

  • Double scaling

  • Allow to add more models (Read the github)

  • I recommend to use it before the tensor upscaler above.

  • I recommend using it on the face or on a garment; it is less recommended for the entire body unless there are few details.

This app is also good, although a little limited.

  • Limited to 9 uses per day of 3 modes each 1

  • Resolutions greater than 2k to 16k, although 2k is more recommended.

  • Android Alternative (Low recommended)

  • Free (Almost no ads)

  • Various images (Batch)

  • Can sometimes give errors in the generation of images with transparency

  • You can glitch the resulting images

  • Web alternative

  • Free (no login required)

  • Limited to 1 image per process

  • Can be bypassed by using an incognito browser or multiple browsers)

Photoroom - (Web/Android)

  • No login required (although it is recommended)

    • Official app requires login

    • Saves the last 10 images (Free, total in premium version)

  • Batch deletion (Premium/APK)

    • Can search for the modified version on the net (No internet/login required)

  • Allows to zoom the image

  • By default the background will be white when you use it, but you can change it to your liking

    • Also allows you to make the silhouette of the character

  • If the image is too blurry it is better to use upscale before, if not after.

  • For the dataset it would be:

    • simple background, white background

  • Gives another kind of angle for the image

  • Requires Login (Limited credit)

  • Focused more on humans, but also gives interesting results with non-humans

  • Requires login after 3 uses

This surprised me. It understands japanese/english text, so it's also good for cleaning manga.

  • It's limited in the automatic version,
